Eaton displays critical solutions for the wind energy industry
Power management company Eaton will be exhibiting at the inaugural WindEnergy event next month in Hamburg, Germany, where it will display critical solutions that enable wind turbine makers and their suppliers to reliably convert wind power into electrical power. Eaton has been a key provider of solutions to the wind industry since the installation of the very first turbines. This experience combined with over 100 years expertise in power management enables Eaton to offer a broad range of solutions that help transform wind power safely and efficiently into useful, sustainable energy.
Visitors to Eaton's stand (Hall B6, Booth 540) will have chance to meet with technical experts and learn about the company's wide range of electrical, hydraulic and filtration technologies for wind turbine applications, as well as its global capabilities which include localised solutions and worldwide onsite service.
One of the most important challenges faced by wind energy producers is maximising uptime and minimising the cost of maintenance. Over the years Eaton has united many pioneers from the industry in order to offer the most efficient power management solutions for some of the world's most demanding conditions. Eaton combines the expertise of the likes of Vickers, Moeller, Cutler-Hammer, Holec, Crouse-Hinds and Bussmann under one brand to ensure a complete set of solutions.
Eaton's electrical portfolio, which includes best-in-class contactors, moulded case circuit breakers and air circuit breakers as well as leading edge Bussmann fuses, can reduce the size and increase the reliability of conversion systems. For hydraulic pitch control, Eaton's performance cylinders provide fast and accurate response time and control. Eaton's Crouse-Hinds business offers expert lighting designed for harsh conditions, including offshore platforms and turbines in places such as the North Sea. The solutions include fluorescent light fittings, which meet IP66 standards and have proven performance with salt water, high wind-load and constant or severe vibration. Eaton also provides new-generation LED lighting that can be used inside wind turbines.
"Throughout the wind energy sector companies increasingly understand that to compete with traditional energy sources, they need partners with an international presence and operations in every key wind marketplace", says Louis Shaffer, EMEA Renewable Energy Segment Manager at Eaton. "Our global network ensures that we already are where our customers need us to be, and our diverse channels ensure reliable availability and support. Eaton is one of the few companies that can offer local supply in key markets where such capability is a critical requirement for success."
As a global company with customers in more than 150 countries, Eaton is committed to providing world class customer service and support all over the world. Eaton's experts on the ground help customise solutions based on the different regional needs and demands. Its global manufacturing capabilities in places such as Canada, Brazil and South Africa enable Eaton to quickly respond to the needs of the wind industry including the local support required to maximise productivity and uptime.
