Advanced Manufacturing Uk helps keep Invensys engineer in control

A return visit to Advanced Manufacturing UK (AMUK - Birmingham NEC, April 27-28) is on the cards for Paul Pady, Test Engineer at Invensys Controls, after he successfully compared and subsequently purchased, some test equipment lighting from an exhibitor at last year's AMUK.

Paul visited AMUK to not only network with like-minded manufacturing professionals, but also to keep up-to-date with new technology practices and to determine whether there was anything new and potentially useful for Invensys Controls.

He has been with the Plymouth-based company for three years and is responsible for procuring test equipment and related manufacturing steps for the company's test, measurement, automation and general process routines.

"While I found some new test lighting equipment, in particular my visit to AMUK was to also look at cameras for inspection purposes and, as always, to keep an eye open for solutions that may help us automate and therefore further improve processes."

Advanced Manufacturing UK 2010 is being held at the Birmingham NEC on 27 & 28 April 2010. Advanced Manufacturing UK will incorporate these co-located manufacturing-focused events: MEDTEC UK medical device manufacturing; Mtec Sensors, Measurement & Instrumentation; Machine Building & Automation; VTX Vision Technology Exhibition; 3C Contamination Control & Cleanroom Products and Practical Vacuum.
