Anti-corrosive, high speed, lightweight linear guides

Anti-corrosive, high speed, lightweight linear guides

Franke Bearings has introduced an anti-corrosive, high speed, lightweight linear guide system to the UK. The FDC series linear guide system offers linear speeds of 10m/s, with acceleration of 40m/s2, and Franke claims it is the only system of its type avaialble from stock in the UK.

The guide is a cassette and double rail type, with a pair of roller shoes and a pair of single rails. The product is formed of an aluminium roller guide in a non-corrosive design, with integrated raceways of non-corrosive steel. The rollers with needle bearings ensure smooth and easy running, and there is adjustable side resistance. Industry standard pattern sizes from 15 to 45 are offered, and the systems are available either maintenance-free or as relubricated with rails cut to size. The guides are available in lengths infinitely variable from 200mm up to 4000mm.

Franke Bearings also reports that it has increased design and production capacity at its Aalen plant near Stuttgart to cater for the increasing global demand for its special lightweight bearings in the aerospace, defence, medical, solar and other industry applications.
