Automation infrared guide for systems engineers

Automation is playing an increasingly important role in giving manufacturers a competitive edge.  At the same time there is growing emphasis on process optimisation, not only to maximise productivity but also to minimise energy costs and wastage.

FLIR's infrared imaging offers huge potential in this field of application.  It can improve process monitoring and control, quality assurance, asset management, machine condition monitoring as well as minimise fire risk and power consumption. To help those keen to adopt automated infrared, FLIR Systems, the world leading manufacturer of infrared cameras, has published the IR Automation Guidebook.  It takes the reader from the principles of thermographic measurement and through the processes of IR camera integration.

It offers advice on data communication interfaces, command and control of the infrared camera, interfacing with a PC or PLC controller and provides an overview of the standard software packages available. This 48 page publication is designed to provide a roadmap through the major issues that should be addressed in IR-integrated system design.
