Bringing modern manufacturing to life

Power management company Eaton is showcasing its vision for how modern manufacturers can be more profitable through next generation manufacturing at the Hannover Messe, where Eaton's stand will reflect the layout of a modern industrial unit, with fully working machines.

A working model of a large filter system, used for example in the wood or textile industry, will be on the stand to demonstrate how manufacturers can comply with the Energy-related Products (ErP) Directive. In particular, Eaton's variable speed starter now offers a cost-effective, easy-to-use and compact alternative, which visitors to the booth can evaluate.

A fully networked industrial future requires information from all the devices embedded in a machine or system. By turning components into smart devices using SmartWire-DT technology, Eaton says it is uniquely positioned to provide a high level of data transparency that is already built into the system by design. This comprises components within the cabinet as well as sensors and actuators or hydraulic valves outside the control panel. This is an important prerequisite for enabling users to get ready for Industry 4.0. In Hannover, visitors can experience the benefits of this concept based on a working pasta machine.

Energy efficiency, regulations and safety are also key concerns from an infrastructure perspective. Stringent legislation makes the safety of people and property an important focus for building owners and managers. Eaton says it has the knowledge, expertise and products to help compliance with regulations and create an environment to keep businesses running safe and strong.
