BritWeek UKTI Business Innovation Awards 2012 now underway

BritWeek announced today that its third annual Business Innovation Awards competition, run in partnership with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), will be open for nominations until March 16th. Companies based anywhere in California or the United Kingdom may apply, provided they have operations in both places.

There are five prestigious awards recognising business innovations in the categories of Design; Technology; Service Provision; Philanthropy; and Marketing and Communications. The last two awards are new additions this year. Applicants are required to submit essays of no more than 1,000 words each, explaining how their companies have improved products, experiences or services in one of the five categories. For more information, rules of entry, and to submit a nomination, please visit the Innovation Awards website.

The applications will be judged by a panel of distinguished experts, including creativity guru Sir Ken Robinson, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum, and Walt Disney International Chairman Andy Bird. The winners will be announced at an Awards Dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on Wednesday April 25th.

"The BritWeek UKTI Business Innovation Awards competition goes from strength to strength," said Fiona Francois, BritWeek Board member and Director of UKTI in the Western United States. "There is an enormous amount of innovation in both California and the UK, and the business relationship between us nurtures that creativity. We are looking forward to another strong field of applicants for the 2012 awards."
