Cables for dynamic applications Cables for dynamic applications Igus has manufactured its own range of cables since 1989. The high-flex cables withstand the stress of tight bending radii in moving applications and deliver longer life at lower cost. As an expert in the cable carrier industry, Igus sought to understand why, at times, its customers' flexible energy supply systems would fail or break down. It was quickly realised that widespread growth of automated technology in the early 1980s had resulted in increasing loads, which guided cables couldn't support. The cables would fail and cause costly system downtime or even damage to the machine. In extreme cases, cable failure could halt production entirely. Most standard cables weren't designed with high flexing in mind, so igus developed its own cable range, designed specifically for use in Energy Chain Systems. Chainflex cables withstand the stress of tight bending radii in moving applications and deliver longer life at lower cost.
