Having introduced the UIR adaptive control system to the spot welding process, Rexroth says it can guarantee total control and documentation of spot welds. For demanding material and metal combinations, Rexroth offers adaptive current/voltage control including monitoring functions for fully documented quality control. The innovative current/voltage control displays all the process-critical parameters online in a diagram, enabling accurate inspection of the weld spots.

Rexroth's internationally-proven resistance spot welding control systems have the standard functions, such as constant-current regulation, pressure regulation and the electrode care concept including tip dressing. The PS 6000 system solution features flexible scalability in terms of power and functionality. With an identical mechanical set-up there is the option of using alternating current and medium frequency inverters.

Boasting a broad range of functions, the inverters can handle spot, projection and resistance seam welding. For high-strength metals, aluminium and three-member joints, the medium frequency inverters offer a number of additional functions. Thanks to its adaptive control modes, the efficient control system offers supreme process reliability and communicates with the higher-level control system via standard field buses. 

For the control of servo weld guns in automotive welding and assembly lines, Rexroth has developed identically sized electric and pneumatic servo drives - Rexroth is the only supplier to offer a choice of different drive technologies. By combining electronics and pneumatics the intelligent control ensures high speed, gentle and bounce-free positioning, free position control and maximum repeat accuracy of the electrode force. With the newly-developed electric servo motor from Rexroth, users can for the first time choose between identically sized servo pneumatic and servo electric drives for X-type robotic welding guns. 

The servo-electric function module combines, in one compact housing, a fully-fledged servo motor with ball screw and separate electric balancing axis. Integrating the drive control in the Rexroth welding control system provides the user with an optimum-compatibility system. The modern Windows user interface, BOS 6000, offers fully-featured programming, monitoring and logging of the entire welding process, the quality module and the drive controls.
