Light curtains approved to SIL3
Tapeswitch says the new Guardscan GS140 light curtains are among the first in the world to be independently assessed and approved to SIL3 of EN61508 and EN62061. In addition, they have been approved to PLe of EN13849:2006, the standard that will replace EN954:1. The curtains are also approved as Type 4 to EN61496.
The light curtains are based on the construction of the well-established B Series product, but have an improved scrolling alphanumeric display. This helps in identifying external problems such as external wiring faults, saving precious production time. The optional BlueView alignment aid uses visible blue LEDs to indicate the direction of the axis of the invisible infrared detection curtain, making it easy to align the emitter and receiver units.
