Low burst pressure with excellent characteristics

Low burst pressure with excellent characteristics
BSandB Safety Systems has just announced the introduction of its GCR-S reverse buckling disc. The GCR-S uses SAF (Structural Apex Forming) technology which enables very low burst pressures to be achieved with excellent opening characteristics.

This technology also offers a wide range of burst pressures and is ideal for a wide range of sanitary/aseptic applications in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food industries. An integral energy absorbing hinge is located on the downstream side of the disk which means the   GCR-S can perform in gas or liquid service with superior flow performance. Structural Apex Forming, the central 'dimple' present in all GCR-S rupture discs, combined with the unique energy absorbing hinge design, ensures that a damaged GCR-S disc will rupture at or below the marked burst pressure.

The GCR-S disc can be used with a sanitary alert sensor on the outlet ferrule. The sanitary alert sensor is for use between standard sanitary or aseptic fittings to provide warning of a burst rupture disk (bursting disc). Leaking disc detection is also available. Alternatively an integral sensor can be provided as an option from BSandB.
