Modular engineering platform

On its stand at the Machine Building show, Rittal will demonstrate, for the first time at a UK exhibition, its new electrical automation software EPLAN Electric P8. This revolutionary modular engineering platform offers the latest in CAE, which not only supports complete migration from EPLAN 5 and EPLAN 21, but also horizontal and vertical extensions. For the first time, the applications for electrical engineering, fluid engineering and instrumentation and control are able to communicate directly with one another. Building on the proven time saving benefit of EPLAN macros, Electric P8 now offers macro variant technology with the ability to insert sections of circuits (macros) with up to eight graphical variants containing pre-engineered data. The macros are easily administered and with new projects, the modification and re-dimensioning of circuits has been eliminated. EPLAN Electric P8 allows last minute changes by simply selecting the suitable variant rather than having to redesign. Workgroup engineering with EPLAN Electric P8 supports working across networks at different sites and even transcending national borders. Any number of users may work on a project simultaneously and instantly view the changes made by others in real time.
