Newall launches its smallest linear encoder head

The Newall MCG is the company’s smallest linear encoder reader head, designed to provide OEMs and systems builders with increased opportunities to utilise linear encoder technology in small, compact packages. Its cylindrical body enables the MCG to be incorporated into OEM machinery designs with minimal alignment and assembly requirements. Using a completely new design, the MCG is easier to mount than conventional linear encoder reader heads and provides an integrated solution to acquiring and analysing positional data on modern automation systems. The reader head is also ideal for machine tool applications requiring accurate and repeatable positioning information. Available in four signal configurations to suit the majority of automation and process control uses, the MCG head includes all the necessary reader electronics in the connector housing, which is supplied complete with a 0.5m lead. TTL, 11mA, and two 1V peak to peak (SCC100 and SCC200) signals are available.
