Oriental Motor highlights robotics capability
Oriental Motor’s 7-Axis Robot provides a highly cost-effective solution for high-precision robotics applications; rather than buying in a complete off-the-shelf robot which may be over specified for a company’s needs, manufacturers can build their own 7-Axis Robot to their exact specifications, with the assistance of Oriental Motor. It is powered using AZ Stepper Motors and perfect for moving and manipulation tasks. The potential cost saving is enormous and could be in the region of £20,000 per robot.
The robot is complemented by Oriental Motor’s gripper, again powered by the AZ Stepper Motor. It is a versatile piece of equipment, not only capable of manipulating components, but also of complex tasks such as measuring or verifying the size of a component. It is even able to measure the amount of force needed to compress a component, verifying its density. Using the AZ Stepper Motor, the gripper grabs a component, moves it into the desired position and checks its size. It then feeds back whether or not it is the correct size and fit for purpose. Such versatility allows the EH Series Electric Gripper to be included a wide range of production lines.
