Preparing for the WEEE Directive

Anyone that manufactures, brands, imports, sells, stores, treats or dismantles electrical or electronic products within the European Union (EU) will be affected by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive. To help UK companies meet the requirements of the new regulations the British Standards Institution (BSI) has published a guide. The guide sets out the background to the WEEE Directive, explaining the need for legislation and why the Directive came to fruition. It covers the requirements and the implications for producers and retailers of EEE, with detailed information for EU Member States. It also includes the Directive and Council Decisions. In particular, it is designed to help prepare you for the introduction of the Directive.
