Rexroth launches drive and control training academy

Rexroth has launched its Drive and Control Academy. Supporting businesses involved in the delivery and procurement of automated, manual and industrial manufacturing systems, this training initiative promises to drive down the cost of upskilling the workforce, while delivering real competitive advantage. __The Drive and Control Academy extends the reach of Rexroth's already comprehensive training portfolio, offering standard and bespoke courses from eight training centres across the UK and Ireland. The product courses are offered through work-based or flexible eLearning and blended learning modules - the latter combine virtual classroom and traditional classroom sessions. In addition to its technical courses, the Academy also delivers comprehensive management and personnel development programmes.

"Stringent cost control, management of risk and business productivity are no longer simply best practice ideals. In today's market they are fundamental to the continued growth of the business," said Mark Simpson, Business Development Manager, Rexroth. "Rexroth understands this and is delivering the product and technology training required to upskill workforces. Critically, we are also arming employees with the knowledge and confidence they need to apply their newly found skills to increase business competitiveness - be it through faster fault diagnostics, shorter retooling times or more efficient process optimisation."

With training budgets under increasing pressure, Rexroth is taking a fresh approach. Working closely with the client organisation, the Academy's experienced tutors deliver customised modular courses that allow multiple working shifts to be trained simultaneously. This reduces the number of production stoppages and significantly improves business efficiency during the training programme.

"We are committed to delivering training of the highest quality, perfectly aligned to the needs of our customers", continued Mark Simpson at Rexroth. "That's why we have brought all of our training capabilities under one umbrella - the Drive and Control Academy - and increased the range and flexibility of our training portfolio."

Technology based training courses are available across the full range of Rexroth products and systems, both current and legacy products. Courses reflect Rexroth's heritage in providing innovative solutions to a broad range of industries. They cover all aspects of hydraulics design, operation and maintenance to automation systems and machine automation training.

New management training modules have been designed for staff working on the delivery and ongoing support of complex industrial equipment. Courses cover best practice for project management to enhance efficiency and productivity for high performance organisations. These include risk management, procurement, contingency planning and contract management.

The Drive and Control Academy's new eLearning courses are delivered using a Web-based application taking students through video and narrated presentations. All online offerings are backed by specialist tutor support, and students are tested at regular intervals throughout the course to assure they are reaching the desired levels of understanding.

The Drive and Control Academy also supplies training systems and support materials for schools, colleges and universities involved in the delivery of technical training in industrial and factory automation as well as mobile hydrualics.
