Security at your fingertips

Security at your fingertips The new M22-ESA fingerprint reader from Moeller Electric provides a simple, cost-effective and dependable way of implementing security measures such as building access control and preventing the unauthorised use of machinery. Compact and easy to install, the new reader can store fingerprint data for up to 100 users, and is equally at home in commercial and industrial environments. The use of thermal line sensor technology means that the M22-ESA provides a high level of security while remaining easy to operate. Users simply drag a fingertip slowly over the sensor which generates a unique code based on the temperature differences between the ridges and grooves of their fingerprint pattern. The reader then compares this code with the stored fingerprint data. It illuminates a green confirmation LED and produces an output signal only if an exact match is found. The storage of new fingerprints is carried out with the aid of a portable Moeller Electric MFD-Titan programming unit which simply plugs into the reader.
