Self-lubricating slewing rings are easy to install

Self-lubricating slewing rings are easy to install There is a new way to tackle high load rotational applications traditionally solved by using ball bearings. The PRT slewing ring from plastic bearings specialist Igus UK uses two self-lubricating, low friction plastic sliding pads in place of the ball bearings. They are reliable, cost-effective, low noise, highly wear resistant and maintenance-free, enabling OEMs to improve the performance of their machines, while saving costs.

The plastic bearing pads contain a solid lubricant, so do not need additional lubrication, and as such are maintenance-free. All housing parts are made of aluminium with stainless steel screws, thus providing a robust design. As the bearings are manufactured from a plastic material, they are resistant to chemicals and feature low moisture absorption and good vibration dampening properties.

The iglidur PRT modules are ideal for OEMs looking for a ready-to-install solution, such as in machine tool and clean room applications, assembly lines, wind turbines, production facilities and robots. The iglidur PRT slewing ring bearing system is available in a wide range of sizes, with inside diameters of 20, 30, 50, 60, 100, 150, 200 and 300mm.
