Southern Manufacturing and Electronics’ Spring debut

Southern Manufacturing and Electronics’ Spring debut

Southern Manufacturing and Electronics returns to FIVE, Farnborough on new dates of the 21st to 23rd of March 2017.  Moving the event from its traditional February slot to new, more convenient dates in early Spring has been universally well received by both regular exhibitors and visitors, who are expected to attend in record numbers this year.

The announcement of the new dates was met with extensive approval, prompting record re-bookings for 2017. The 2016 exhibition attracted more than 8,600 visitors, setting a new high water mark for the event and vindicating the organiser's commitment to Farnborough over alternative locations in the South. With enhanced accessibility and investment in local infrastructure nearing completion, the organisers expect to see a further significant increase in visitor numbers for 2017.

The event is well-established as one of the most important showcases for industrial technology in the UK. Divided more or less equally between Electronics and Manufacturing, and including a specialist Automotive/Aerospace zone, the show plays host to an enormous variety of manufacturers, vendors and service providers. In 2016 a little over 800 companies from all over the world showcased their wares in the 18,000m² venue - larger than 5 halls of the NEC combined. Among the key attractions for visitors in 2016, components and OEM parts figured strongly, alongside machinery and other hardware. Subcontracting, including electronics assembly and manufacturing, was also a top goal for many – over 45% of visitors came to find service vendors within these fields.

Conveniently located adjacent to the M3 in Hampshire and well-served by public transport, the show is an outstanding chance for industrial professionals to see the latest industrial technologies and companies in a single, time-efficient visit. Technology trails guide visitors within the three primary event areas, helping them to make the ideal use of time at the exhibition. Specialist areas like the Production Equipment, Machinery and Sub-contracting zones enable it to be easy for visitors to locate precisely what they are looking for with the minimum of effort.

Entry to the exhibition and the technical seminars is free, and FIVE Farnborough provides ample free car parking. There's straightforward access by road from the M3 or by public transport. A complimentary shuttle bus connects the show and both of Farnborough's railway stations. To register for tickets, simply go to www.industrysouth.co.uk.
