Strong grippers for tough jobs

Strong grippers for tough jobs

Originally developed to provide specific and efficient handling solutions for customised production machinery Lantec grippers have been made available to all industrial engineers who value solid engineering, clever design, and outstanding build quality at reasonable cost.

Major European automotive components manufacturers operate Lantec designed and built automation systems equipped with their own pneumatic grippers and clamps ensuring consistent productivity.

The Lantec industrial range includes double acting, 2-jaw self-centring parallel and angular grippers plus a series of single lever clamps.

The gripper bodies are machined in aluminium, coated with chemical nickel and accommodate robust steel mechanisms moving in hard-wearing guides providing great physical strength, wear and shock resistance.

They are actuated by standard compact cylinders enabling easy and cost-effective replacement of worn seals without having to interfere with the grippers themselves.

The superior design ensures Lantec grippers offer a long service life and perform reliably even in harsh, high pressure production facilities in all areas of manufacturing industries. The working temperature ranges between -30 to +80º C.

Parallel grippers type PPE are available in six different sizes with a maximum gripping force of 1150 N and 2900 N respectively for type PPI.

The advantage of the angular gripper types PAC, PAE and PAN is their common turning axis for both fingers. This enables to manipulate a band of diameters (e.g. 35 to 45mm) with the same gripper fingers and virtually no deviation from the centre line, hence supporting higher production flexibility.

Available in five sizes with a torque range from 3.6 to 66 Nm, type PAC is useful in space constricted areas as the wide opening jaws provide clearance without the need to retract the unit, an application solution which could save a linear slide.

The super power gripper PAE has an average opening angle of 30º, a closing torque range from 24 to 350 Nm with a massive closed retention force of 773 Nm for the largest of the four sizes, well capable of handling heavy drive shafts or similar.

The PAN is a smaller, light weight unit but generating respectable torques of 17.5 and 34 Nm respectively.

Customised gripper requirements for particular handling applications, including high temperature or hydraulic versions can be catered for on request.
