Thermal sensors for predictive monitoring

Thermal sensors for predictive monitoring Temperature is one of the best indicators of a fault or malfunction, but key electrical switchgear can be very difficult to monitor, being inaccessible within metal enclosures. The answer, says QHi, is to have the predictive system actually inside, directly and continuously monitoring all key components. ExerTherm is a unique system, based on patented, small, low cost, plastic bodied, non-contact, infrared sensors, which requires no external power source, so allowing the sensor to be placed inside the enclosure. The devices combine high reliability with a 1000 year MTBF for a true ‘fit and forget’ solution. Though originally designed to monitor electrical switchgear, virtually all key plant can be continuously monitored.
