Ultrasonic sensors in a standard package

Ultrasonic sensors in a standard package The UC12 from Sick is a sensor that delivers all the power of ultrasonic detection within the same enclosure as the company’s popular W12 photoelectric sensor. The same user-friendly features are also present, in the form of a simple teach-in process and a connection plug which can be rotated through 90 degrees. Reliable detection irrespective of colour, shape and surface texture, plus the ability to detect liquids, foils and glass, along with stability in harsh environments, all make the UC12 sensor particularly suitable for packaging machine manufacturers, bottling machine end users and print and paper companies. Applications include detection of transparent coloured objects, fill height detection, positioning, distance monitoring for collision prevention, and other object detection tasks. Both PNP and NPN output versions are available, with ranges up to 350mm.
