Yuasa sail to success in the Flying Dutchman World Championships

GS Yuasa is celebrating a successful campaign in the prestigious Flying Dutchman World Championships. The battery manufacturer backed three Yuasa-branded boats in the nine challenging races with Guzmán Egea Aguado and Jerry Vinkensteyn being awarded the U26 world champion honours.

Trelleborg to supply seals to the world"s longest immersed tunnel

Trelleborg’s marine and infrastructure operation has been awarded the contract to supply its tunnel seals to Femern Link Contractors (FLC) for the construction of the 18-kilometre long Fehmarnbelt tunnel. Connecting Rødbyhavn in Denmark and Puttgarden in Germany, once completed it will be the world’s longest immersed tunnel.

Henkel products help UCLAN win dynamic event at formula student

The use of Loctite and Teroson adhesives, sealants and retaining compounds helped the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) to win the Dynamic Event at Formula Student 2021, triumphing ahead of 35 other race teams from across the country. The university deployed Loctite products – supplied by sponsor Henkel – in various areas of its build programme, ensuring the car could withstand demanding acceleration, sprint, skid-pad and endurance disciplines which form part of the overall Dynamic Event.

Sulzer enables carbon-neutral alternative to coal

The innovative EU-funded Arbaflame project is aiming to produce 70,000 tonnes biomass-based combustibles per year to enable clean power generation. The biomass pellets are made of wood and can be used as a 100% sustainable alternative to coal in power plants to produce carbon-neutral power. Sulzer Chemtech’s separation equipment will play a key role in Arbaflame’s pellet production process, minimizing energy usage while maximizing the recovery of highly useful chemicals generated as by-products in the process, further supporting the circular economy.
