Kistler launches a new, compact version of its NCFT joining module

In response to customer demand Kistler has developed a new version of its well proven NCFT joining module with the stroke length increased from 100mm to 250 mm whilst reducing the overall length of the unit from 548mm to 482mm. This has been achieved by moving the drive motor from the end of the module to the side. In all other regards, the new compact version retains all of the capability of the original, straight version. Both types consist of a robust housing with an integral piezoelectric tension/compression force sensor and an absolute encoder integrated in the drive motor for precise positioning.

Accurate and stable actuator for an automatic screwdriving application

Accuracy, repeatability and stability were the key performance requirements specified for an actuator to be used in an automatic screwdriving application for AVK Plastics, a manufacturer of synthetic surface boxes and pallets based in the Netherlands. AVK Plastics turned to HepcoMotion after the previous actuator could not provide the high stability required, causing them to need a replacement.

Complete power train dismantled, overhauled and relocated for biomass generator

Sourcing a replacement steam turbine at short notice can be a considerable challenge, but when there is a need for a matching generator and all the auxiliary equipment as well, the task seems almost impossible. Fortunately for a biomass power station in Michigan, USA, an almost identical site had been recently moth-balled and Sulzer was able to refurbish and relocate all the machinery.

Liquid filling machines increase productivity with motion control solution

A liquid filling machine builder has increased machine speed by 8% and boosted machine efficiency to 91% after upgrading from a PLC system to a motion control solution. Liquid filling sachet and tube packaging solutions provider, Unette, has integrated Trio Motion Technology’s complete machine control package including controller, servo drives and motors, to improve its overall productivity. The upgrade has also increased reliability that has reduced downtime, as well enabling a faster machine set-up.
