Eaton's innovation brings reliability and economy to medium voltage switchgear

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today launched its new FMX range of medium-voltage switchgear. Key innovations in the new range from Eaton's Electrical Sector include a new electromagnetic mechanism for circuit-breaker control which enhances life and reliability, an integrated cable test facility outside of the high voltage compartment for maximum convenience and safety and exceptionally compact construction.

IEC medium voltage circuit breakers are compact, reliable and environmentally friendly

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today launched its new W-VACi vacuum circuit breakers, designed specifically to offer reliability, safety and value for money in a compact, environmentally friendly package. The new product is an addition to the comprehensive family of Medium Voltage switchgear products from Eaton's Electrical Sector and is based on the company's proven vacuum interrupter technology. The units are entirely free of SF6 gas, which contributes significantly to the greenhouse effect, and as a result they have excellent environmental characteristics. The new W-VACi medium-voltage circuit breakers are suitable for a wide range of applications including switching transformers, capacitor banks, motors and cables.

Eaton completes its medium voltage offering

Eaton Corporation today announced that it now offers a comprehensive family of medium voltage products for use in distribution networks, infrastructure and industrial applications at up to 24 kV. The announcement follows the launch of three new products in Eaton's Electrical Sector's Medium Voltage range - FMX single-busbar switchgear, W-VACi vacuum circuit breakers and Unitole UX withdrawable switchgear. The new products build on Eaton's long and proven experience in the MV sector and complement the organisation's existing MV switchgear products. Many of these, including the recently introduced Xiria 24kV ring main units, were formerly supplied in the UK under the Holec product series.

PTC upgrades CoCreate to V17.0

PTC has announced the launche of CoCreate 17.0, the next major release of its explicit modeling 3D CAD software. Over 560 enhancements across the CoCreate family are being introduced, including interactive, intuitive ways of working with 2D profiles and 3D models. Performance benchmarks compared with V16.0 include accelerated design productivity by up to 2x, and reduced time spent creating 2D profiles by 40%.
