1U cPCI/VME64x 19in chassis is low cost option

Verotec has announced its new 1U desktop or 19in rack mount powered and thermally managed chassis. Complete with a 250W auto-ranging ATX PSU and six separate cooling fans, the unit is fitted with either a 6U 8HP 2-slot cPCI or a 6U 8HP 2-slot VME64x backplane, enabling the same mechanical platform to be used for either of the two most popular bus structures.

The utmost flexibility in R&D analysis

So that its customers get the best possible return on investment from its top of the range SC600 thermal imaging cameras, Flir Systems has announced upgrades that substantially increase the scope of their application. This has been achieved in part by features such as high speed windowing, panorama image building with full radiometric data, and a new autofocus laser pointer. New wide-angle and macro lenses have also been introduced. To complement this enhanced functionality, however, Flir Systems has also developed a classy new R&D software package, Flir ResearchIR.

NI hosts green engineering virtual event series

National Instruments has announced the Green Engineering Virtual Event Series, an offering of five live webcasts that provide engineers and scientists information on how to use the most current measurement and control tools and techniques to design, develop and improve technologies that result in environmental and economic benefits. The free Green Engineering Virtual Event Series will be hosted live on ni.com during Earth Week, April 20-24, from noon to 1:00 p.m. CDT, and will cover a different green engineering topic every day. An NI technical expert will present each webcast, focusing on real-world application examples and hardware and software demonstrations.

Free seminars for improved design processes

Leading Autodesk manufacturing reseller, Micro Concepts, will be holding five Autodesk 2010 Launch Events during May and June 2009. The seminars will introduce the 2010 versions of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor Suite, AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD Mechanical and is intended as an introduction to designers not yet using the Autodesk product range or who are considering upgrading their design functionality to an Industry focussed AutoCAD product.
