New covered compression latch from Southco enhances safety and reduces maintenance errors

Southco has expanded its line of VISE ACTION compression latches with a new covered version that allows the operator to identify whether the latch is open or closed. Southco’s E3 VISE ACTION compression latch with bi-stable cover is designed with a cover that pops open when latch is not secure, providing visual indication of latch status. This new offering expands the line of ‘make safety visible by Southco’ products, which provide visual indication for improving safety and monitoring access in a wide variety of applications.

Fast enclosure customisation speeds up security project utilities company

A UK electricity utility company has been provided with 100 customised enclosures within two weeks of order. Industrial enclosure manufacturer, Spelsberg, was able to provide a customised sample within an hour of request to Avanti Lighting, which had been contracted by the utility company to develop a weather-proof CCTV bracket and enclosure mounting system.

Kontron presents new AMD-based motherboard D3714-V/R mSTX including matching chassis

ontron is expanding its portfolio of industrial motherboards with the D3714-V/R mSTX. This is Kontron's first completely new motherboard development following the acquisition of Fujitsu's industrial motherboard division. The new product in the space-saving mini-STX format supports up to four independent displays in 4K resolution. Kontron says this makes it suitable for applications such as digital signage, kiosks, medical displays, thin clients and ultra-small industrial PCs. A matching SMARTCASE for universal use is available for the two D3714-R versions in the form of the S511 housing kit.

EtherNet/IP network specification complete for Ethernet-APL physical layer for process automation

ODVA has announced today that the EtherNet/IP specification has been enhanced to enable EtherNet/IP networks to support the Ethernet-APL physical layer for process automation. Licensed vendors for EtherNet/IP technology can immediately start developing EtherNet/IP components for Ethernet-APL, including controllers, power switches, field switches, and instrumentation.
