Chain reaction brings flexibility
Offering everything from plastic cable chains, measuring only a few millimetres, to bespoke steel chain, weighing several tonnes, Northern Manufacturing exhibitor Kabelschlepp Metool is highlighting its own range of cables at theshow. It supplies Hi-Flex cables for operation in its carriers, tested and rated to millions of cycles and optimised for small bending radius and outside diameters.
Its Traxline cables are engineered to yield long life, high reliability, and superior performance in motion applications, says the company and are suitable for use in its cable and hose carrier systems.
Although cable chains made of plastic material are most common, the material used is the result of R&D to deliver properties the dynamics require. The company offers various ranges in modular design widths that can be sized in mm increments. Frame parts made of aluminium allow full width flexibility and the material properties guarantee superior stiffness over plastic, when required.
For the most demanding applications, there is a range of steel cable chains. These are a reliable choice for applications with high mechanical stress or extreme operating conditions. Customisation is always possible.
Control, power, data, bus, USB, Cat5, continuous bending, PVC and PUR, fibre optic cables and system cables are available.
