Fully sealed - New cleanroom chain from igus with ISO Class 1

>There is a growing demand for moving applications within cleanrooms in a variety of industry sectors. This puts higher demands on all components within machines in these areas. An abrasion-resistant power and data supply is an essential part of any moving cleanroom machinery. To meet this need, igus has developed the new CRC (Clean Room Chain) e-chain to prevent any contamination by abrasion particles in the cable carrier system.

>The 'enclosure' of the actual energy chain and cables is itself highly resistant to abrasion. In addition the outer cover, in conjunction with the strain relief and mounting brackets, is designed to hermetically seal the energy chain and cables inside. In this way, cleanroom compatibility is guaranteed even for a long service life with high cycles.

>The flexibility of the outer jacket allows not only easy installation and operation of the energy supply system, but also enables easy maintenance and inspection of the cables using the simple opening mechanism.

>High speeds and accelerations are also possible which are common, for example, in pick-and-place applications. The chain system can be supplied with chainflex cables, which themselves have low abrasion jacket materials, offering machine builders a complete cable management package for this demanding environment.

>The CRC cleanroom e-chain has been assigned the DIN ISO

>Class 1 by the IPA Fraunhofer Institute without any restrictions. It therefore meets all the performance features required for use under the most demanding application conditions such as in medical, semiconductor and automotive industries.

>It is offered as a standard in two different inner widths (38mm and 103mm). The inner height is 24mm with an outer height of 59mm. Bend radius options of 150mm, 175mm, 200mm, 225mm and 250mm are possible.

>As with all e-chain types, igus offers a free online tool with 3D CAD models to support designers specifying the correct energy supply system.
