Ultra-compact electric telescopic extension slide integrates rail, motor and controller

To meet this need, igus has unveiled the drylin NTM-45, an electric telescopic extension slide that combines rail, motor and controller into one streamlined, maintenance-free unit.
Designed specifically for applications where every millimetre counts, the drylin NTM-45 measures just 42 mm high and 45 mm wide, and achieves a maximum extension of 500 mm while maintaining a remarkably compact footprint.
"The compact drive and space-saving motor interface make the NTM-45 ideal for installations where conventional linear systems with separate motors and controls would simply be too large," explains Lee Wilkins, Product Manager for linear and drive technology at igus UK.

Unlike conventional telescopic systems, the NTM-45 runs without rolling bearings or lubricants. Its anodised aluminium profiles and iglidur IC-05 polymer-coated centre rail deliver low-friction, wear-resistant dry operation, while a dryspin high-helix lead screw ensures smooth, durable performance.
The result is a hygienic, dust-resistant and maintenance-free system that operates quietly and reliably even in demanding environments.
A complete motion solution
To meet different automation needs, igus offers the drylin NTM-45 with a choice of stepper, DC, or EC/BLDC motors. With the D1 motor control system, users can easily configure and adjust motion parameters such as speed and acceleration via WLAN or LAN.
