A nylon bearing-swell problem almost led to the abandonment of a project to develop a new percussion hammer drill until the drill maker turned to Vesconite Hilube no-swell wear-resistant bearings.

Abssac has installed a new ROMI GL250M CNC turning centre, which it says transforms its machining scope and capability. The turning centre offs integral C axis milling capability for off centre drilling, as well as a milling process for items such as key ways and polygon turning.

TÜV SÜD is investing £1.65million in a 1,800m2 fully automated EMC and RF testing facility. Based at TÜV SÜD’s Hampshire headquarters, the new facility’s three semi-anechoic EMC chambers will be in addition to five existing ones, significantly increasing test capacity.
