Autocraft Drivetrain Solutions, operating from a 56,000sqm site near Grantham, Lincolnshire, is the largest independent engine remanufacturer in Europe, supplying such well-known OE manufacturers as Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, Aston Martin, JCB and Chrysler. And engines are not the only drivetrain components processed - the company also handles transmissions and precision machined components such as cylinder heads and blocks, plus sub-assembly of automotive parts.

Panel feed-through aids installation of PushPull connectors

Harting has extended its established PushPull connector family with a new panel feed-through component in robust plastic for mounting the Han PushPull Power 4.0 connector in round panel cutouts with IP65/67 protection class. The round panel feed-throughs can be screwed into wall openings with M25 threads or mounted in circular wall openings with a diameter of 25 mm.

Schneider Electric agrees to acquire InStep Software

Schneider Electric has entered into an agreement to acquire InStep Software, a leading provider of real-time performance management and predictive asset analytics software and solutions. It is the latest acquisition from the company's growing Software business and deepens its presence in the power and energy market. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2014, subject to customary regulatory and other closing conditions.

Igus energy chains tame the tide

Ensuring a safe and productive solution to providing electrical, water, and fuel connections to a jetty is challenging at the best of times. But when that jetty is floating in the harbour at Barrow-in-Furness with rough seas and an 11 metre tide, the problems are compounded. That was the situation facing Cameron Forecourt, who installed a floating pontoon for DONG Energy that is used to service their wind farm just off the rugged North West coast of England.
