Sustained growth for POWERLINK community

Danfoss, Getriebebau Nord, Indel, Infranor, Sick, Softing, Texas Instruments and the robot manufacturers Comau and Sepro have driven another growth spurt of the Ethernet POWERLINK Standardisation Group member list. Over the past few weeks, no less than nine companies joined the POWERLINK and openSAFETY user organisation. On their booths at the Nuremberg SPS IPC Drives 2012 show, the new members will showcase their POWERLINK-based products and solutions as central exhibits.

The process is now highly automated, so data communications are critically important. Expanded capabilities of Metrix SETPOINT machinery condition monitoring and protection system

The recently announced expanded capabilities of the Metrix SETPOINT machinery protection system are now available in the UK from Ixthus Instrumentation. Metrix, the Houston - Texas based provider of engineered products and analytical instruments, has introduced a series of enhancements that now allow its API 670 compliant SETPOINT system the ability to provide condition monitoring for full TSI (Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation) for large steam turbine-generator sets, reciprocating compressors and aeroderivative monitoring for gas turbines.
