Apex Dynamics launches stainless steel planetary servo gearboxes

Apex Dynamics has launched a new range of stainless steel, planetary servo gearboxes in the UK that it says will be a game-changer for applications in the food, pharmaceutical, packaging and automation sectors – what’s more the kit is ‘Brexit proof’.

Already established in 35 countries but new to the UK, what makes these planetary servo gearboxes different, but not significantly more expensive than standard steel units, is the stainless-steel body and patented design features around the gearbox and bearings.

One of the world’s leading servo gearbox and rack and pinion manufacturers, Apex Dynamics’ precision products are capable of backlash accuracy down to less than one arc minute as well as being cleverly designed for easy cleaning and sterilising in an environment involving food grade materials or pharmaceuticals.

Existing customers include packaging machinery manufacturers, food, pharma, automotive and numerous related markets.

In addition to promoting the new planetary servo gearboxes, which are available in in-line, right angle and a wide range of frame sizes and ratios, the Uttoxeter-based company showcased an entire range of related servomotor solutions, including rack, pinion, right-angle helical and spiral bevel gearboxes at the PPMA Total exhibition.

Apex Dynamics managing director Mike Gulliford pointed out that the company’s customer support and delivery times are also unmatched by its global competitors, with a supply line that will not be troubled by a no-deal Brexit because the product is manufactured outside Europe.

He said: “We are a fully-integrated manufacturer with the capability to deliver in three weeks or less, compared to others’ timescales of 15 weeks or more. We also stock the largest range of drop-in replacements for any other manufacturer as well as the widest range of gearbox ratios. What we’re doing today will still apply the day we exit the EU; we won’t be disturbed by Brexit and that’s not true of our major competitors.”

Special features can also be catered for in the three-week timescale, but bespoke and R&D projects might take a little longer for very specific niche products which can be used for increasing applications, especially to do with liquids.
