Bike Charging Station campaign set to expand installer base

Spelsberg is looking to expand its installer partnership base in support of the launch of its BCS Pure/Smart GB e-bike and e-scooter charging station. Spelsberg’s campaign will also emphasise how councils and public organisations, as well as commercial businesses, can make the transition to more sustainable transport alternatives.

The BCS Pure/Smart GB e-bike charging station are supplied ready to install, a process that can be quickly achieved by most electrical contractors or car EV charge point specialists.

Spelsberg’s Bike Charging Station (BCS) is said to be ideal for installation at offices and places of work, as well as shopping centres, car parks and transport hubs. With so much potential for charging station locations, the company is looking to expand its installer base.

“BCS gives an opportunity for installers to open a new market and enhance their portfolio in parallel with the growing demand for electric bike and scooter charging points,” says Spelsberg UK’s managing director, Chris Lloyd. “While the BCS Pure/Smart GB system is simple to install, it’s highly reliable too, giving installers confidence in partnering with Spelsberg, reinforced with full support from our UK site.”

To support the roll-out of charging stations across the UK, Spelsberg is inviting potential partners to get in touch. Commercial installer and UK retailer packages are also available. The charging station can be fitted by any qualified electrical installer or car EV recharge specialist. BCS is manufactured in Germany at Spelsberg’s headquarters and is supported directly from the UK by Spelsberg’s Telford centre in the Midlands.

Suitable for outdoor or indoor installation, each BCS Pure/Smart GB e-bike and e-scooter charging station comprises four charging points. These include 2 off standard 240V mains power socket, as well as the common Shimano- and Bosch-compatible connectors, enabling the BCS to recharge virtually all types of e-bike and e-scooter.

Highly durable, the BCS Pure/Smart GB comes with a rugged IP54 polycarbonate outer casing, providing protection against dust ingress and water spray, with an IK08 rating that makes it tough against impact. Easy charging is achieved with a long, 2.5 metre cable, while the unit is just over 50 cm in height and width, enabling it to be installed in a compact location of choice.

The charging station comes with free charging access for users, though facilities managers can integrate a pay meter or charge for access options. To enable easy management, the BCS Smart GB has the option of a built-in connection to an online user dashboard, accessible via a web portal, that provides a host of controls, monitoring, and reporting features. E-bike and e-scooter users can also identify the closest charging points from among a growing network of installed BCS units via a free app.

“Making the transition to zero emission transport is important for regional government as well as many businesses. E-bikes and e-scooters are ideal for commuting, either for whole journeys, or to support travel to and from transport hubs or car parks,” says Lloyd. “As a keen cyclist, I know at first hand the physical and mental wellbeing advantages of bike and scooter travel. The BCS is fast and simple to install and manage, supporting public and private organisations to make the transition.”
