When a specialist packaging machinery manufacturer required a bespoke, complex guard built to provide a guard over the top of the machinery, it turned to Industrial Physics.

Industrial Physics is a global packaging, product and material test and measurement partner made up of various specialist testing brands, one of these being Torus.
While the customer developed the initial design in-house, the Torus design team meticulously checked and re-engineered the drawings to produce precise cutlists and manufacturing details. This approach ensured the guard met both functional and production requirements.
A step in the project that was valued by the customer was validation prior to delivery to ensure the guards met the expectations visually. To accommodate this, Torus conducted a video call before packing, providing a detailed walkthrough of the guard for the customer's approval.
Delivery logistics can also be a challenge due to the size of these guards. However, Torus worked closely with a trusted partner which offers same-day delivery using articulated lorries, ensuring a smooth and efficient process that benefited the customer.
During the redesign phase, design queries occasionally arise. Thanks to the strong relationship with the customer, the Torus designers collaborated directly with the customer's designer via Teams meetings to resolve issues efficiently, ensuring the final product met the precise requirements.
Leon De Bruyn, Design Draftsmen at the customer, commented: "Torus has knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and experienced staff at all levels. They are so easy to work with."
