Ondrives have added to their Peek GF30 and Delrin POM range of gears by making worms and wheels in the same material for their latest power transmission catalogue.
These worms and wheels start at 0.5 Mod going up to 3.0 as standard and all are available in either 1, 2, 3 or 4 starts. Worms, worm shafts and wheels are designed to be run together in either Peek GF30 (light brown) or Delrin POM (white) or with a plastic wheel running with a steel worm/worm shaft. They are made to Quality Grade 8e25 DIN 3974 and different bore sizes, keyways, tapped and pin holes are all available to order for a nominal extra charge. Complete specials are also available to customer's drawings and specifications where required.
Both of these materials have been chosen for their unique properties which make them ideal for engineering applications. Peek Gf30 is a material known for its resistance against chemicals, high tensile and impact strength and for keeping its shape. Delrin plastic material is characterised by good fatigue life, low moisture sensitivity, and high resistance to solvents and chemicals. It also contains good electrical properties. Delrin is a semi crystalline engineering plastic that is particularly suited to CNC machining making it easily modified where customer's applications call out for it.
