Developed by Wanner, and based on the same hydraulically balanced diaphragm principles as traditional diaphragm metering pumps, the Hydra-Cell solution can save as much as 20 to 30 percent on initial purchase in metering and dosing applications, says the company. Evaluation of lifetime costs has shown that significant savings can be made in terms of maintenance, repair and energy costs, giving a real economic alternative to traditional metering pumps.
The system is designed to take full advantage of special features of the Hydra-Cell pump. The multi-diaphragm pump head produces very low pulsation, removing the need for pulsation dampeners in many systems and eliminating expensive multiplexing pump arrangements. Having no dynamic seals, the pump can handle abrasive, corrosive, viscous and non-lubricating fluids. Its linear output enables flow to be controlled accurately by controlling pump speed.
Wanner claims its metering pumps can offer figures of +/-1 percent linearity, +/-1 percent repeatability and +/-0.5 percent steady state. The company has also developed and brought together a range of compatible elements, enabling the right cost-effective solution to be offered for the customer"s process.
