Heavy-duty cable carriers for long distance travel

The heavy-duty cable carriers TKHD85-R and TKHD90-R with integrated rollers from Kabelschlepp Metool offer a solution wherever large cable packages have to be guided reliably over long distances. The cable carriers are available in two sizes and can be flexibly adapted to the available space.

The TKHD-R series from Kabelschlepp Metool offers the right cable carriers for rough working conditions and extended travel lengths. The heavy-duty cable carriers are highly robust and durable and require only minimum maintenance. With these properties, typical applications include ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, coal loading systems and bulk materials handling.

The smaller variant TKHD-R with 58 mm inner height is a good alternative to the larger TKHD90-R when there is less space available and the cables and hoses take up less room. Despite the reduced dimensions and the lower weight, users can still enjoy all the benefits of the TKHD-R series: the robust design, the dirt-resistant outer contour, and the quiet running thanks to the integrated noise damping.

The 85 or 90 mm pitch and the polygon-optimised outer contour additionally ensure particularly quiet running of the cable carriers. Thanks to the easy installation, even very long travel lengths can be implemented with the TKHD-R series – gliding or unsupported, as a new system or as a retrofit.

The R in the type designation stands for the rollers integrated into the cable carrier. These not only prevent undesired lengthening due to the long travel length, but also improve energy efficiency. Compared to a gliding cable carrier, the rolling versions from Kabelschlepp Metool require 90 percent less force and consequently save drive power and energy. The installed stainless steel ball bearings minimise wear and ensure maintenance-free use. Even at high travel speeds, the cable carrier runs quietly and with low vibrations – a process that is gentle on the cables and hoses as well as on the cable carrier itself.
