Renold Clutches & Couplings has designed and manufactured a huge single engagement gear coupling, weighing in at four-and-a-half tonnes, in just 12 weeks for a major new cement works in Qatar. The design of the Gearflex coupling had to be modified so that it would fit perfectly in-between the gearbox and motor to drive the new plant’s roller mill where the carefully controlled ingredients in the cement are ground to a fine powder.
