Ingeniously simple fastening

Tox Pressotechnik has developed and patented a combined clinch and rivet technique called TOX-ClinchRivet. The procedure based on the TOX-Round Point technology is specially intended for joining thin metal sheets and other thin, formable materials, or for other applications where joinings of utmost strength are required. As with the the round point, the materials are not cut but merely formed. During the ClinchRivet joining process the combined drawing and pressing action produces from a very simple, cylindrical rivet.

Ingeniously simple fastening

The complete joining represents an effective combination of round point forming and rivet joining. The simple geometrical shape provides the basic joining, with the cold formed sheet metal materials having an additional holding function. The need for (pre-)punching of holes for feeding with rivet bolts is completely eliminated. No other working cycle is needed and no additional punching tools and features are required.

ClinchRivet joining owes its very high strength values to the solid rivet firmly positioned in the round point and the consolidation of the sheet materials in the so-called neck-area, developed by the forming/deepdrawing process. No mechanical fatigue strength reduction takes place and therefore utmost loads are permitted. The design of rivet and tool guarantee a high and reproducible quality of the individual joinings.
