LG Motion invests in new plant at Basingstoke HQ
Despite uncertainty in some areas of industry in 2020, LG Motion has demonstrated its confidence in future orders and workload from both existing and newly onboarded clients by investing in new on-site plant in its head office in Basingstoke.
The newest addition is a high-speed milling centre, capable of machining components up to 850mm long, 540mm wide and 300mm high, complete with integrated verification. The additional size and speed allow larger batches of standard positioning tables to be optimised whilst improving the capability for customer specials, all part of the flexible and agile approach to manufacturing. This will complement the existing plant, allowing the company to offer even more efficient and comprehensive systems and solutions.
Gary Livingstone, LG Motion managing director, says: “Along with efficiencies of production, the milling centre will allow LG Motion to keep and develop core processes in-house, maintaining quality and breadth of services. We always have an eye on the future of the industry and continue to design and build motion technology solutions to move products and automate processes.”
The company works in close partnership with clients from a wide range of industries, including aerospace, medical, energy and motorsport.
