Lightweight linear guides have big capacity
For designers looking for lightweight bearings with big capacity, this new product from Euro-Bearings fits the bill. The aluminium profiled rail and carriage motion guidance assembly has introduced to the UK linear bearing market. The system uses a profiled aluminium rail with hardened bearing steel inserts on both the rails and aluminium carriages for the ball contact areas.
The system is said to offer a number of advantages over the traditional steel rails and carriages. They are lower cost, lightweight, and provide equal load bearing in all four main directions of loading. They also provide a low magnetism design.
The range is available in three sizes (15, 20 and 25) which cover dynamic loads from 5000N to 16,000N. This enables designers to virtually ignore product weight but still enjoy relatively high load capacities, moment and stiffness characteristics. Wiper seals and lubricating accessories are available to bolt-on to both types of carriages including two types of grease or oil nipples.
