MBS brings Item automation range to Drives & Controls 2022

On show at Drives and Controls on the MBS stand will be the Item automation range, including linear slides, servomotors, gearboxes and controllers, featuring simple setup and programming using Item’s MotionSoft software.

The linear slides can be belt, ballscrew, chain or rack and pinion driven, and are available in a variety of designs. Fully customisable for both heavy-duty and light-duty applications, it is possible to easily create slides with bespoke lengths due to the modular construction, utilising modular aluminium profiles and standard components.

Product selection is made easy using Item’s online MotionDesigner tool and, of course, integration with an Item aluminium profile framework is extremely straight forward.

Made-to-measure combination

Building an automation system from Item’s linear slides, motors, controllers, cables and accessories provides a linear motion unit that is a made to measure combination. Users can choose from a host of different linear systems with various drive and guide technologies, optimised for speed, payload, precision and stroke length.

The highly dynamic synchronous servomotors allow short cycle times with dependable precision, along with the addition of maintenance-free gearboxes and optimised drive sets. Motion profiles can be implemented directly in the controller, meaning a separate PLC is often unnecessary. All popular fieldbus systems are catered for.

With a matching rage of cables and accessories, users can enjoy rapid installation and maximum safety, thanks to tamper-proof connectors and colour coding.
