Danfoss partner opens in the South West

Danfoss Drives distributor and business partner Ralspeed has opened a new branch in the South West of England. The subsidiary, which will trade as Ralspeed (Southern) will be offering the same high quality products supported by outstanding service and expertise that have made the original Ralspeed operation in Blackburn so successful.

Located in Newquay, Cornwall, Ralspeed (Southern) comprises a brand new 2,000m2 facility, which offers local stock holding of all popular Danfoss Drives products. The new premises will also be used to host training courses. In addition, as an accredited centre of excellence, Ralspeed (Southern) will offer test, service and repair facilities for Danfoss Drives. Control panel design, manufacture and retrofit will also be available in the new branch.

Simon Finlay, Ralspeed (Southern) managing director, explains: “I started working at Ralspeed almost two decades ago as an apprentice to Peter Schaffel, Ralspeed managing director. I progressed through the company and gained a huge amount of knowledge and experience. I’m sure this will stand me in good stead in my role as Managing Director of Ralspeed (Southern), and will allow me to provide excellent support for our customers. I am both excited and privileged to take on this challenge.”

Ralspeed specialises in the manufacture and supply of soft starters, variable speed drives and all types of control gear including star-delta starters. Currently employing 17 people, the company is principally involved in the LV controlgear sector, with a special focus on the pumping and motor control industries. Ralspeed has a £2 million turnover and has been a preferred Danfoss Drives partner for the last two years.
