Northern Manufacturing 2014 free seminar programme announced
Northern Manufacturing and Electronics 2014 (EventCity, Manchester, 1-2 October) has announced it will host two days of free, world-class seminars featuring experts from the fields of electronics, industry and manufacturing.

In a busy two-day programme, speakers from a number of leading companies will cover a wide range of technical and operational issues in twelve, hour-long sessions. The programme has been designed to appeal to a broad range of industrial professionals from all branches of manufacturing, engineering design and production. As with the exhibition, entry to the seminar sessions is completely free, making this an extremely rare opportunity to hear world-class speakers outline the latest ideas in manufacturing, engineering and industrial management.

The programme opens with "Three Simple Steps to Improve Your Manufacturing Performance" Samir Shah, Lead Consultant with OptimumFX will share a powerful methodology for delivering consistent improvement in a Lean manufacturing environment.  In "The Shape of Things to Come"  Alistair Williamson from Lucid Innovation looks at the methods employed to design today what customers will need tomorrow.

3D Printing is one such technology, examined in detail by David Moore from Stanford Marsh in "An Introduction to 3-D Print"  and by Alistair Williamson in his session, "Shaping The Future of Manufacturing". Peter Evans from the CE Marking Association looks at "CE Marking 2014 and Beyond".  In "Lean Concepts and the Practical Applications of Waste Elimination" Tim Scurlock, from Automotive Lean Consulting looks at the origins of Lean and how it can be applied with examples from the Automotive and Service sectors.

Stephen Ashcroft invites visitors to "Sharpen Your Negotiation Skills". The final session, "Moving from Inspect and Reject to Predict and Prevent using Real Time Analytics" with Jim Petrusich from NWA Software highlights the best practices for applying real-time analytics to increase efficiency, with examples from Dow Chemical.

Admission to Northern Manufacturing and Electronics 2014 and the seminar programme is entirely free although pre-booking is strongly advised. EventCity offers 3000 free on-site car parking spaces, with easy accessibility by road, rail or air.
