Oil humidity sensor keeps an eye on quality

ifm has introduced the LDH oil humidity sensor, designed to transform oil quality management in industrial environments. The sensor provides continuous, real-time monitoring of the measured oil's relative humidity and temperature, equipping operators with essential data to improve efficiency and reduce maintenance-related downtime.

The LDH sensor enables a shift towards condition-based oil management, offering precise, actionable insights into the condition of ester and mineral oils. By delivering accurate real-time data, it allows operators to optimise oil usage, schedule maintenance effectively, and prevent issues such as reduced cooling or lubrication.

Additionally, by detecting and addressing the presence of free water - a major contributor to corrosion and wear - the sensor protects machinery performance and extends equipment lifespan.

Designed for practicality and durability, the LDH sensor is easy to install with a standard G1/2 thread and M12 connector. Its compact and robust stainless-steel construction ensures reliable performance in demanding industrial environments. Equipped with either 2 x 4 -20mA or advanced IO-Link technology, the sensor integrates seamlessly with IT systems, streamlining condition monitoring and simplifying data analysis for smarter decision-making.

With the LDH oil humidity sensor, ifm says it is setting a new benchmark in oil management, empowering industrial operators to maximise operational reliability and efficiency.
