Panasonic launches FP7 entry level PLC

The Panasonic FP7 range of high performance modular PLCs is being further enhanced with the introduction of an entry level CPU targeted at applications where high CPU performance is required without the need for high performance communications features or large I/O requirements.

The compact and powerful CPU offers 64K of program memory suitable for all but the most demanding applications and is additionally fitted with non-volatile data memory and a real-time clock.  Standard USB and RS232C tool ports can be further enhanced with the two expansion ports that support cassettes offering various combinations of RS232C, RS485 and Ethernet based communications if required. Input and output capability is supported allowing up to 16 expansion units to be connected to the CPU for control of digital and analogue I/O, temperature control, high speed counting and positioning modules.

It is programmed with Panasonic’s FPWIN Pro7 IEC61131-3 compliant multi language software that supports instruction list, ladder diagram, function block diagram, sequential function chart and structured text programming languages. The software supports a range of comprehensive and powerful libraries that have been developed over many years.
