Pinflex couplings for heavy shock load conditions and fail-safe operation

Renold's Pinflex range of pin-and-buffer couplings are designed for arduous applications, with heavy shock loading and misalignment requirements. They provide reliable, fail-safe transmission of torque and are therefore well suited to applications where safety is a factor, such as on escalator drives and fire pumps.

>The couplings have a simple, yet virtually indestructible design with strong, compact, steel half bodies and polyurethane buffers that reduce vibration, dampen impact loads, accommodate misalignment, and provide temperature resistance. The use of steel for the half bodies enables larger bore sizes to be accommodated in a lighter, smaller sized coupling compared to older cast iron pin-and-buffer designs.

>New to the Pinflex range is the option of Hytrel buffers for very high temperature applications of up to 120°C. The couplings are maintenance free, but in the event that the buffers become damaged or worn a big advantage is that they are easily replaced without the need to move the shafts. Typical applications include conveyors, escalators, mixers, pumps and general industrial applications with shock loading, vibration and misalignment.
