Pressure sensor is powered through computer USB port
Hamersham is offering a solution to simplify and speed up system pressure sensing. It is a USB powered pressure sensor that plugs directly into your PC. Gone are the days where the sensor had to be hooked up to an interface box and pressures were monitored via a small instrument display. Taking the Hamersham HT100 route to pressure testing truncates the process to three easy steps. Once you've installed the sensor, you simply connect the communication cable to the PC. Then you start the PC software and begin measuring pressure immediately.
The product evolved by reasoning that service engineers generally use a PC laptop as a resource for diagnostic tools, service manuals and reporting. Logic dictates that the service engineer should be able to plug all of his service tools into the laptop. The obvious question was: why can't we do this with a pressure sensor? After careful research, design, field testing and certification, the Hamersham HT100 range of USB pressure sensors was created.
There is a pressure test range to suit most applications from a low of 25bar to a high of 800bar. Individual, multipoint dead weight tester calibration means an excellent degree of accuracy is achieved (+/-0.25 percent of full scale over the rated temp span and in the zone 5-95 percent of full scale).
Much consideration has been given to both mechanical and software interfacing. A compact, instrument grade push-click connector has been selected as the electrical interface. No locating screw threads have to be turned and a mechanical ID means the sensor can be installed blind if required. An integrated dust cover means the communication cable can be removed and the sensor left on the machine.
Smart sensor technology means the sensor keeps its calibration data on board together with fault records, serial number and recommended date for recalibration. And the easy-to-use PC software ensures that when the sensor is plugged in, it is immediately recognised and starts to measure pressure straight away. The pc software allows the test engineer to do simple static visual pressure tests or log individual pressure samples over a time base.
