CAD supported switch cabinet design

CAD supported switch cabinet design Computer-aided tools are increasingly being used for the electrical planning and mechanical design of switch cabinets. Bachmann is providing an EPLAN P8 library for eCAD systems, and for mCAD programs a 3D module library with the components of the M1 automation system.

The device data of the Bachmann automation components can be obtained from the EPLAN Data Portal, supplemented with all the latest products. The common data created with EPLAN and certified data can be loaded directly into the eCAD project and used immediately for the design tasks. The EPLAN library contains device data, macros and technical documentation for all PLC and visualisation components. It thus offers support during the entire electrical design engineering phase - from the creation of schematics, to cabinet layouts, overview drawings, PLC configurations right through to spare parts documentation. The data for this can be taken directly from the EPLAN Data Portal. It is also possible to copy the design via an eCAD import in the Bachmann SolutionCenter.

The new 3D-CAD model library gives Bachmann designers the versioned 3D models of their control and visualisation components and thus enables the optimum positioning of components and cabling. The STEP exchange format ensures that the 1:1 scale models can be processed in all currently available 3D drawing programs. The models show the outer details of the products in full resolution. In this way, the realistic appearance of the 3D design is ensured, also for the documentation.
